Advertising For Canadian Lawyers
Our editor-in-chief, Alistair Vigier, has been in the legal industry since 2015. In that time, he has spoken with thousands of lawyers in Canada about marketing.
Alistair noticed that at least 95% of Canadian lawyers don't know anything about marketing and advertising.
If the lawyers have a website at all, and actually spend money on advertising, they normally just do the thing that is easiest to understand. Normally this is having a Facebook page (with only 50 followers) and spending $100/click on Google Ads.
Canadian lawyers that don't care about marketing rely on referrals from other lawyers. The problem with this is that it's inconsistent. You might get too many referrals one month, and then not enough the next month.
It's not a good way to grow your law firm in Canada.
Helping Lawyers Reach The Public
Our mission with this website is to educate lawyers, so they can do a better job in reaching the Canadian public.
Lawyers are experts in providing legal advice, and too many people in the public make important decisions without hiring a lawyer first.
If lawyers can't advertise their services, it creates an unfair advantage.
Without naming them, we know of many law firms, that are amazing at marketing, and who are terrible lawyers. They are dishonest with their billing and they post lots of fake positive reviews. They also post fake negative Google and Clearway Law reviews for other law firms.
Avoiding Dishonest Law Firms In Canada
Any client or member of the public that leaves a 1-star review of these dishonest law firms gets a cease and desist letter. But it works, these dishonest law firms get the clients.
